Business ultrabook with touchscreen

The Dell Latitude E7440 is a 14.0 inch business ultrabook equipped with a Full HD touchscreen display. It runs on a 4th Generation Intel Core i5-4300U dual-core processor operating between 1.6 and 1.9 GHz. The system includes 16 GB of DDR3 memory configured as two 8 GB modules. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed for immediate professional use.

Dual-drive storage and connectivity

The operating system resides on a 512 GB mSATA solid-state drive for fast boot times and application loading. A secondary 2.5 inch 1 TB hard drive provides additional capacity for large file archives. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400 drives the 1920 x 1080 panel and supports external monitors via HDMI and VGA outputs. A built-in webcam and DVD-RW drive complete the connectivity and media feature set.

Efficient thermal design for office workloads

The ultrabook chassis and low-power processor combination keeps thermals and fan noise subdued during typical business tasks such as document editing, web browsing and video conferencing. Integrated graphics eliminate the heat output of a discrete GPU, helping maintain comfortable surface temperatures. Power draw remains modest under normal productivity loads, supporting extended unplugged work sessions.

Questions about this item

How long does the 1.6 - 1.9 GHz i5-4300U run before it hits its thermal limit under continuous load?

The dual-core 4th Gen i5-4300U operates at 1.6 - 1.9 GHz with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400; sustained workloads will push the Ultrabook chassis to its thermal ceiling, triggering throttling to protect the CPU.

What fan noise and surface temperatures should I expect when the E7440 runs all day on the 512 GB mSATA SSD and 1 TB hard drive?

With the 14" FHD touchscreen, 16 GB DDR3 and both drives active, the compact cooling system spins up audibly and the keyboard deck grows warm during extended sessions.

Which DDR3 SODIMM modules are already installed so I know what matches for any future upgrade?

The system ships with 16 GB configured as 8 GB x 2 DDR3 SODIMM modules, filling both memory slots.
