Business-ready 14-inch laptop

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.6 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. The Full HD display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles visual output. The system ships with Windows 10 Home 64-bit installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

This configuration suits professionals who travel frequently and require a mix of modern and legacy connectivity. The single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port, HDMI output, three USB 3.0 ports and Gigabit Ethernet cover most docking scenarios. A microSD card reader and Bluetooth 4.2 add peripheral flexibility. Buyers who need a touchscreen, discrete graphics, more than 8GB of memory or a newer operating system out of the box should look elsewhere.

1TB NVMe drive with 8GB memory headroom

The 1TB NVMe drive provides ample space for operating system, applications and large project files with fast load times. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory handles typical office multitasking, web browsing and video conferencing comfortably. Heavy virtualisation, large dataset processing or modern gaming will exceed the available memory and integrated graphics capability. The dual-core processor limits sustained multi-threaded workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop need any extra memory or storage to run Windows 10 Home out of the box?

No, 8GB DDR4 and a 1TB NVMe drive are already installed, so the system boots straight to the desktop.

Will my older USB-A mouse and HDMI monitor work with the three USB 3.0 ports and the single HDMI port?

Yes, all three USB 3.0 ports and the HDMI 1.4 output accept legacy USB-A and HDMI cables without adapters.

How can I confirm the Thunderbolt 3 controller is active after I plug in a dock?

Open Device Manager and look for the Thunderbolt controller under System devices; the taskbar icon also appears when a Thunderbolt device is recognised.
