Dell Latitude E5450 with 512 GB SSD

This laptop ships with Windows 10 Home 64 Bit already activated by a digital licence. The Intel Core i5 dual-core processor runs at 2.60 GHz and is paired with 8 GB of DDR3 memory. It is suited to office tasks, web browsing and light multitasking on a 14 inch non-touch display.

Installation and common issues

The system is ready to use straight from the box after accepting the licence agreement. Memory upgrades use the two available slots and support a maximum of 16 GB. The original lithium-ion battery is tested to hold a charge, though runtime will vary with workload.

Pre-purchase checks

Verify that Windows 10 Home meets your software requirements before ordering. The wireless adapter supports 802.11a/b/g networks only. There is no Bluetooth, no optical drive and only two USB ports, so confirm your peripheral needs.

Questions about this item

After turning on the Dell Latitude E5450, how do I confirm the Intel i5 2.60 GHz processor and 8GB DDR3 memory are detected?

Open Settings, choose System and then About; the listed processor should read Intel i5 2.60 GHz and installed RAM should show 8 GB.

Does the box include the AC adapter and are any cables or peripherals sold separately?

The AC adapter is included; no optical drive is fitted, so an external USB DVD drive must be purchased separately if required.

Is the 512GB SSD capacity sufficient for Windows 10 Home 64 Bit plus typical office files, or should I plan to add more storage?

Windows 10 Home 64 Bit and the pre-installed anti-virus and LibreOffice suite leave ample space on the 512 GB SSD for documents and media.
