Built for Harsh Environments

The Dell Latitude Rugged 5424 is a new 14.0-inch laptop engineered for field work where standard devices fail. Its rugged chassis undergoes military-grade testing to withstand vibration, shock, and extreme temperatures. Workers in construction, utilities, and public safety can rely on it for mobile data entry and communication.

Sunlight-Readable 14.0" FHD Display

The non-touch screen delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with high brightness for clear viewing in direct sunlight. This panel is the deciding factor for crews who operate outdoors and need readable maps, schematics, or forms without seeking shade. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the display for everyday business applications.

For Mobile Field Professionals, Not Office Workers

This unit suits technicians, engineers, and first responders who need a durable Windows 11 Pro machine with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB SSD for core apps. Buyers who want a lightweight ultrabook for desk use, a dedicated GPU for rendering, or a larger screen for multi-window productivity should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.2 GHz turbo speed mean for everyday workloads on this i7-8650U?

The quad-core i7-8650U can boost to 4.2 GHz on single-threaded tasks, giving snappy response in office apps and web browsing while the 8 MB L2 cache keeps data close to the cores.

Which video outputs are available on the USB Type-C and DisplayPort connectors?

The laptop provides one HDMI port and one DisplayPort for external monitors; the USB Type-C port handles data at USB 3.0 speeds and does not carry a native video signal.

Will the 14.0-inch chassis accept a standard 2.5-inch drive caddy for extra storage?

The rugged 5424 uses a sealed internal design with the 256 GB SSD already installed; there is no user-accessible 2.5-inch bay or caddy slot.
