Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower Desktop

This Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop computer is built around an Intel 2nd Gen i5-2400 quad-core processor running at 3.10 GHz. It includes 8 GB of DDR3 memory, a 256 GB 2.5-inch solid-state drive and a 3.5-inch 2 TB hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed with a Certificate of Authenticity. A USB keyboard and mouse are supplied in the box.

Check Your Setup Before Ordering

The system uses a 265 W internal power supply and a Mini Tower chassis with DIMM 240-pin memory slots. Graphics are provided by integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000, so no discrete card is included. Network connectivity relies on Gigabit Ethernet and a USB wireless dongle. Verify that your monitor, peripherals and available desk space suit this form factor and power rating.

Suitable For Everyday Office And Study Tasks

This configuration suits students and home-office users who need a ready-to-use PC for documents, web browsing and light multitasking. The dual-drive layout gives fast boot times plus large local storage. Buyers who require dedicated graphics performance, higher memory capacity than 16 GB DDR3, or a smaller footprint should consider a different system.

Questions about this item

Does the Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower ship with a keyboard and mouse, or must I buy them separately?

A USB keyboard and mouse are included in the box, so no separate purchase is needed for basic input devices.

Should I choose the 8 GB DDR3 configuration or upgrade to the 16 GB maximum listed for this model?

The 8 GB DDR3 fitted is sufficient for general office work; the 16 GB maximum is useful only if you run heavier multitasking or memory-hungry applications.

What does the 3.10 GHz quad-core i5-2400 speed mean for everyday performance once the system is running?

The four cores at 3.10 GHz, with turbo up to 3.40 GHz, handle typical office multitasking and web browsing smoothly; the 256 GB SSD keeps boot and app launches fast.
