Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower Desktop

This Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop computer is built for everyday office and home use. It runs on an Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz quad-core 64-bit processor with 8GB of DDR3 memory. A 1TB 3.5-inch SATA hard drive provides storage space for documents and applications. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This system suits students and home-office users needing a ready-to-run Windows 10 Pro PC with included USB keyboard and mouse. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 handles basic display output only, so buyers needing discrete graphics performance for gaming or GPU-accelerated workloads should look elsewhere. The four DIMM slots are fully populated at 2GB each, leaving no free slots for simple memory expansion without replacing modules.

The specification that decides fit

The motherboard uses the Intel Q67 chipset and supports a maximum of 16GB DDR3 across four 240-pin slots. With 8GB already installed as 2GB x 4, any future upgrade to the 16GB limit requires removing existing modules. Verify that your workflow fits within this 16GB DDR3 ceiling before purchasing.
