A 5U tower server with dual 16-core Xeon processors at 2.1 GHz, 16 GB DDR4 ECC memory, H730 RAID controller, and eight 3.5-inch drive trays
The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server built for workgroup collaboration, mail, file, print and web serving in small or remote offices. It ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 16 cores and a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory are installed across two slots, leaving ten slots open for expansion up to 384 GB.
Dual Xeon CPUs and 16 cores per socket deliver steady multi-threaded throughput for virtualization, database and file-service workloads that run continuously. Two 750-watt platinum-efficiency power supplies operate in redundant hot-swap mode so a single supply failure does not interrupt operation. The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery-backed write-back supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, keeping storage performance consistent under heavy I/O.
Eight 3.5-inch SAS/SATA drive trays slide into the front bay without tools, though drives themselves are not included. iDRAC 8 Express provides out-of-band remote management for power cycling, console redirection and firmware updates without an operating system. Buyers needing rack-mount rails should note that plastic feet are not included and the chassis is designed for tower orientation.

Other versions of this model
Dual 750 W platinum supplies share the load and hot-swap without shutdown, while the 5U chassis uses multiple managed fans that scale speed to CPU temperature.
The H730 controller accepts SATA or SAS drives; eight trays are included, but no drives ship with the server.
The C610 chipset supports up to 384 GB of registered DDR4 ECC across twelve slots, so matching 2400 MHz modules will install and run at rated speed.
