Precision 5530 2-in-1 workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch convertible workstation built for professionals who need a touchscreen in a silver chassis. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8706G processor with four cores and eight threads. The dedicated AMD Radeon Pro WX Vega M GL graphics card carries 4GB of GDDR5 video memory. This configuration targets mobile creators and engineers who value pen and touch input.

Flip installation and memory constraint

The 2-in-1 hinge lets the display rotate for tablet or tent modes without any tools or internal access. Memory is limited to 16GB of DDR4 soldered in a single slot with zero sockets free, so capacity cannot be increased after purchase. The 65-watt AC adapter connects through one of the USB-C ports that also carry Thunderbolt 3 and DisplayPort signals. Buyers who need more storage should verify external drive workflows before committing.

4TB NVMe SSD capacity

The system ships with a 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 solid-state drive as its only internal storage device. This single specification decides whether the Precision 5530 fits a project that demands large local datasets, heavy video timelines or extensive virtual machines. No additional drive bays or M.2 slots are mentioned in the supplied data.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the Intel Core i7-8706G reaches its 4.10 GHz Turbo Boost under load?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose CPU, and run a heavy workload; the live frequency readout should climb toward 4.10 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

What accessories are included and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the 2-in-1 workstation and a 65-watt AC adapter; no external mouse, carrying case, or additional cables are supplied.

Which configuration should I choose if I need maximum local storage for large project files?

This unit ships with a single 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD and the memory slots are already populated to the 16GB maximum, so no further internal upgrades are possible.
