Mobile Workstation Core

The Dell Precision 7550 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10850H six-core processor running at 2.6 GHz with 12 MB cache. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD. Graphics are handled by an NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with 4 GB of GDDR6 memory. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Suited For And Limits

This configuration suits engineers and designers who need certified application stability for CAD, 3D modelling or data analysis on a portable 15.6-inch Full HD panel. Buyers who require a touchscreen, a higher-resolution display or more than 64 GB of memory should consider other platforms. The Grade B classification means cosmetic wear is present, so buyers expecting pristine condition should look elsewhere.

Setup Checks

Verify that your existing Thunderbolt 3 peripherals and Mini DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 monitors match the available video outputs. Confirm the 45 W processor power profile aligns with your thermal expectations for sustained workloads. Ensure the included AC adapter meets the original equipment manufacturer wattage specification for the system.

Questions about this item

Does the Precision 7550 need any proprietary dock or cable to use its Thunderbolt 3 ports?

No proprietary dock is required; the two Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports accept standard Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C peripherals and cables.

Will my existing USB 3.0 drives and monitors work with the laptop's USB 3.2 Gen 1 and video outputs?

Yes — the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0 devices, and the HDMI 2.0 plus Mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs support older monitors with the appropriate cables.

How can I verify the NVIDIA Quadro T2000 4GB GDDR6 is active after setting up Windows 11 Pro?

Open Device Manager or the NVIDIA Control Panel; both will list the Quadro T2000 with 4 GB GDDR6 memory, confirming the discrete GPU is recognised and enabled.
