Mobile workstation for professionals

The Dell Precision 7550 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation powered by a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10850H six-core processor running at 2.6 GHz with a 2.70 GHz boost. It targets engineers, designers and analysts who need certified application performance in a portable chassis. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and 64 GB of DDR4 memory.

Build integration and expansion

Two Thunderbolt ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports with PowerShare handle high-speed peripherals and charging. An SD card reader, HDMI 2.0 and Mini DisplayPort 1.4 drive external displays without adapters. The 1 TB NVMe PCIe SSD provides primary storage while RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11ac wireless cover wired and wireless networking.

Thermals and power in daily use

The 45 W processor and discrete NVIDIA Quadro T2000 4 GB GDDR6 GPU share a cooling solution designed for sustained workloads. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles light tasks to reduce discrete GPU activity. The included AC adapter matches the platform power profile for stable operation under load.

Questions about this item

Does the 45 W Intel Core i7-10850H throttle under long heavy workloads?

The 6-core i7-10850H runs at a 45 W base power; sustained all-core loads will hit that limit and the firmware will reduce clocks to stay within it.

How loud and hot does the Precision 7550 get when the Quadro T2000 and CPU run flat-out all day?

Dual fans cool the 45 W CPU and 4 GB GDDR6 Quadro T2000; expect audible fan noise and warm keyboard deck under continuous maximum load.

Which dock or adapter do I need to drive two external monitors from the Thunderbolt 3 ports?

Each Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port carries DisplayPort 1.4; a Thunderbolt 3 dock or dual DisplayPort adapter lets you run two external displays.
