Earthquake Sound AWS-502B Pair

The Earthquake Sound AWS-502B is a pair of two-way home audio speakers built for indoor and outdoor use. The moulded PVC enclosure includes UV protection and rust-proof aluminium screws, brackets and grilles.

Suited to multi-zone and marine installs

These speakers suit buyers who need weather-resistant stereo sound for patios, boats or commercial PA systems. The paintable cabinets and directional positioning help match décor and disperse audio evenly. Buyers who want more storage or a single speaker for desktop use should look at something else.

Bookshelf or bracket mounting options

The versatile enclosure allows placement on shelves or attachment via the supplied brackets for corner or wall mounting. Gold-plated binding posts ensure a secure connection to an amplifier. The sealed, gasketed acoustic parts protect the drivers from moisture, freeing the installer from extra weatherproofing steps.

Questions about this item

What amplifier power rating and impedance match do I need for the 8 Ohm, 20125W RMS speakers?

Use an amplifier rated for 8 Ohm loads with continuous power around 20125W RMS per channel so the 5.25" two-way drivers receive clean, undistorted signal at their full capability.

Can I keep my existing speaker wire with the gold-plated binding posts?

Yes, standard bare wire, spade lugs or banana plugs all seat securely on the gold-plated posts without adapters.

How do I verify both AWS-502B speakers are wired in phase after installation?

Play a mono test tone; if the centre image stays focused between the pair the 5.25" woofers and tweeters are moving together correctly.
