Edgeless In-Wall LCR Speaker

The Earthquake Sound EWS530C is a frameless in-wall speaker sold individually for left centre right channel duty. Its edgeless design and magnetically attached paintable grille allow the unit to blend into the wall surface. Two 5.25 inch Kevlar midbass drivers a 3 inch Kevlar midrange driver and two 25 millimetre swivelling silk dome tweeters handle the frequency range. The speaker presents an 8 ohm nominal impedance.

350 Watts Maximum Power Handling

The speaker is rated for 350 watts maximum input so the connected amplifier must not exceed this limit. A 12 dB per octave crossover network with polyswitch protection manages driver integration and guards against overload. Front panel bass and treble controls provide +/- 3 dB adjustment to compensate for room acoustics. The shallow woofer system and XLT geometry enable performance within the reduced depth of a frameless enclosure.

Single Speaker Requires Multiple Units

Each EWS530C is sold as a single speaker so a complete LCR front stage demands three separate units. Buyers planning a stereo pair or surround system must purchase additional speakers accordingly. The edgeless construction suits installations where visual discretion is a priority over conventional box speaker placement. No enclosure or mounting hardware beyond the integrated frame is referenced in the specifications.

Questions about this item

Should I buy the single EWS530C or look for a pair for stereo?

The EWS530C is sold as a single unit; order two if you need a stereo pair, or three for a front LCR array in a home-theatre setup.

What does the 350-watt maximum rating tell me about real-world listening levels?

The 350 W figure is the peak power the speaker can survive for short bursts; for sustained playback use an amplifier rated well below that level to avoid thermal compression.

The speaker is 8 ohms — does that limit which amplifiers I can use?

An 8-ohm nominal impedance is easy for virtually any modern stereo or AV receiver to drive, so amplifier choice is not restricted by the load.
