Edifier R990BT Active Speakers

The Edifier R990BT is a pair of powered 2.0 bookshelf speakers finished in black. An integrated amplifier delivers 24 W RMS so no separate receiver is required. Bluetooth and dual RCA inputs accept wireless and wired sources alike. The MDF enclosure helps keep cabinet resonance low for cleaner output.

Home listeners wanting simple stereo

Buyers who want a compact powered pair for a desk, shelf or small living space will find the R990BT straightforward to set up. A rear-mounted knob and button handle volume and source selection without a remote. The cabinet is designed for near-field or mid-field placement rather than floor-standing use. Buyers who need a subwoofer output, optical input or multi-room streaming should look at other models.

24 W RMS total power

The combined 24 W RMS rating defines the maximum clean output the built-in amplifier can sustain. It determines whether the pair can reach the listening levels you want in your room without distortion. Match this figure to the volume you need before deciding.

Questions about this item

Do I need to supply my own cables to use the dual RCA inputs on the R990BT?

Yes, the dual RCA input ports require standard RCA audio cables to connect external devices such as a turntable, CD player or computer.

Can I keep my older turntable plugged into the RCA inputs while I also stream wirelessly to the speakers?

Both RCA inputs remain active simultaneously, so a legacy source can stay connected while you switch to the Bluetooth receiver for streaming.

How can I confirm the R990BT is delivering its rated 24 W RMS after setup?

Play a familiar track at a moderate volume; the silk dome tweeter and four long-throw mid-low drivers should reproduce clear highs and deep bass without distortion at the rated output.
