This 10 inch black sleeved cable connects two PWM case fans to a single motherboard 4-pin header. It suits builders who need an extra fan without using another header. The Y splitter carries one 4-pin female connector and two 4-pin male ends. All connected fans follow the same PWM signal for synchronised speed control.

The master fan plug passes the RPM signal back to the board while the second plug omits that pin so both fans run at identical speeds. Three-pin fans can be attached but will run at full speed without PWM regulation. Only the fan on the 4-pin connector is monitored by the motherboard.
