Converts a PSU 6-pin PCIe connector to an 8-pin GPU socket using 18 AWG tinned copper in a 10 cm length
This adapter converts a power supply with a 6-pin PCIe connector so it can feed a graphics card that requires an 8-pin PCIe connection. It works with cards from brands such as Radeon that use the 8-pin header. It will not plug into a 6-pin GPU header, so it is not for builders whose card only accepts a 6-pin input.
The cable uses 18AWG tinned copper conductors that are UL listed for safe current handling. At four inches long the adapter adds minimal resistance and does not introduce noticeable heat or noise in normal operation. No active cooling is required because the assembly is entirely passive.
The short 10 cm length keeps cable routing tidy inside compact cases and frees up space that a longer harness would occupy. Keyed rails on the 8-pin male end and a latch on the 6-pin female end prevent accidental disconnection during transport or maintenance. Ensure the power supply provides a 6-pin PCIe output before purchasing.

Plug the PCIe 6-pin female end into the PSU cable until the latch clicks, then insert the PCIe 8-pin male end into the graphics card until the self-locking tab engages; the 10 cm length leaves almost no slack, so route it before seating the card.
The UL-listed 18AWG tinned copper wires are rated for continuous GPU current and require no scheduled replacement; only replace the adapter if the latch or self-locking tab breaks or if insulation shows heat damage.
The PSU 6-pin connector and its wires set the practical ceiling; the adapter itself adds no active regulation, so sustained draw is limited by the source connector and cable rating.
