NVMe M.2 to six-port SATA adapter

This EN-Labs adapter converts a single 2280 M-Key NVMe M.2 slot into six SATA 3.0 ports. It uses the ASM1166 chipset to connect up to six SSDs or mechanical hard drives simultaneously. The board includes an aluminium heatsink and per-port LED indicators for activity monitoring. No driver installation is required for Windows, Mac OS, Linux or common NAS operating systems.

SATA 3.0 interface and bandwidth limits

Each of the six ports operates at SATA 3.0 6Gbps, while the ASM1166 controller provides a theoretical total bandwidth of 16Gbps. The adapter only functions in a 2280 M-Key NVMe M.2 slot and will not work with B-Key, B+M-Key NGFF or mini PCIe slots. Port Multiplier support is included for expanded connectivity. Built-in protection covers overcurrent, overvoltage, short circuit and EMI suppression.

Capacity and headroom for multi-drive arrays

Six SATA devices can be attached at once, making the card suited for bulk storage expansion or NAS builds. The combined 16Gbps ceiling means sustained throughput is shared across all active drives, so heavy simultaneous workloads will saturate the controller before individual SATA limits are reached. AHCI boot support allows the array to serve as a system volume where the platform permits.
