PCIe x1 to M.2 SATA and SATA III adapter

This adapter adds an M.2 B-key SATA slot and a standard SATA III port through a single PCIe x1 connection. It suits builders who need extra SATA storage on boards with limited native ports. The card fits any PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and includes a standard-profile bracket. It does not support NVMe drives.

Capacity and headroom

The M.2 slot accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 B-key or B+M-key SATA SSDs. A second SATA III connector handles a 2.5-inch SSD, HDD or optical drive at up to 6 Gbps. Both devices can operate simultaneously, limited by the single PCIe x1 lane. NVMe SSDs and M-key-only modules will not function.

Thermals, noise and power

The ASM1061 controller runs passively without a fan, so the card adds no audible noise. Power is drawn entirely from the PCIe slot, requiring no extra cables. Actual throughput depends on the installed SATA SSD controller and drive capacity. Hot-swap and NCQ are supported for both ports.
