PS3 Super Slim CECH-400x 2.5" Drive Adapter

This metal mounting bracket lets owners of the PS3 Super Slim CECH-400x series install a 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD into the console. The kit includes the bracket, a bag of screws and a user manual for straightforward fitting. It is built from iron for durability and measures approximately 103 by 75 by 27 millimetres with a package weight around 52 grams.

Buyers adding storage to a 12 GB Super Slim

The adapter is designed specifically for the CECH-400x Super Slim chassis, so it suits anyone upgrading the 12 GB flash model to a larger 2.5" SATA drive. It will not fit earlier PS3 models or other console revisions, and it cannot accommodate 3.5" desktop drives or M.2 modules.

Iron bracket aids heat dissipation under load

The metal construction acts as a heat spreader, helping to move warmth away from the drive during extended gaming or media playback sessions. No active cooling is included, so sustained thermal performance depends on the console's internal airflow and the drive's own operating limits.

Questions about this item

What must I already own to use this PS3BR25HDD bracket with my CECH-400x console?

You need a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD; the bracket and screw bag are included but the drive itself is not.

Will this adapter fit the original 12 GB flash storage inside my Super Slim console?

No, it replaces the flash module entirely and accepts a standard 2.5 inch SATA drive instead.

How can I confirm the bracket is seated correctly after installation?

The metal frame should sit flush within the 103 by 75 by 27 mm bay and the console must recognise the new drive on first boot.
