Digital audio bridge

The ESTONE DAC converts optical Toslink USB and Bluetooth 5.0 sources into analogue stereo RCA and 3.5mm outputs. It suits listeners who want to connect a TV game console or computer to an older amplifier or active speakers without digital inputs.

Remote and USB playback included

A bundled IR remote lets you switch sources and adjust volume from the sofa. The USB port doubles as a music player reading MP3 WAV APE FLAC and WMA files from a flash drive so no phone or computer is required for local playback.

Optical input limited to PCM LPCM

The Toslink receiver accepts only two-channel PCM or LPCM streams at 32 44.1 48 96 or 192 kHz. Multi-channel formats such as Dolby Digital or DTS are not decoded so surround soundtracks must be down-mixed at the source device.

Questions about this item

How long will the USB power cable last before it needs replacing?

The USB power cable is a standard accessory; replace it only if the connector becomes loose or the cable shows visible wear.

What stops me from using headphones above 300 ohms with the 3.5 mm jack?

The headphone amplifier is rated for 16 to 300 ohms; higher impedance loads will not be driven to adequate volume.

Does the unit get hot or noisy when streaming Bluetooth 5.0 audio all day?

The converter has no fan and draws little power, so it stays cool and silent during continuous Bluetooth 5.0 playback.
