1x2 HDMI Splitter for 4K 60 Hz Sources

This new ESTONE OZF12-2 duplicates one HDMI input to two displays at up to 3840 x 2160 resolution and 60 Hz refresh. It handles 18 Gbps bandwidth with HDCP 2.2 compliance and supports 30, 36 or 48 bit deep colour plus DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD and other high-bit-rate audio formats. The compact black unit ships with an AC power adaptor and manual.

EDID Mode Selection Determines Compatibility

Four selectable EDID modes let the splitter report the correct display capabilities to the source, which is the single setting that decides whether a particular source and monitor combination will handshake at 4K 60 Hz. Choosing the wrong mode can limit the link to lower resolutions or cause no signal at all, so match the mode to the least capable display in the chain.

Plug-and-Play with Power Required

Connect the source to the single HDMI input and two displays to the outputs, then attach the supplied AC adaptor; the splitter draws external power and has no software drivers. The most common issue is forgetting the power supply or using cables longer than the 18 Gbps specification allows, which can drop the link to 30 Hz or produce sparkles on screen.

Questions about this item

What does the 18Gbps bandwidth mean for my 4K setup?

The 18Gbps bandwidth supports 4K at 60Hz with RGB 4:4:4 chroma and up to 48-bit deep colour, plus high-bitrate audio formats such as DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD.

How does the HDMI 2.0b interface limit what I can send to both displays?

HDMI 2.0b caps the signal at 3840x2160 at 60Hz with 4:4:4 sampling and HDCP 2.2; it cannot pass higher refresh rates or wider colour spaces.

What space and power does the 5.59 x 3.15 x 1.26 inch unit need?

The splitter fits in a 5.59 by 3.15 by 1.26 inch footprint and requires the included AC power adaptor to operate.
