10 ft Toslink Optical Cable

The ESTONE T001A is a 10 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable built for short-range S/PDIF connections between source devices and AV receivers. Male-to-male gold-plated plugs sit on a 2.2/5.0 mm fibre core wrapped in double braided nylon for durability and corrosion resistance.

Home-theatre and console owners

This cable suits buyers who need lossless multi-channel audio up to 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus or DTS-HD from Blu-ray players, game consoles, sound bars or set-top boxes. It will not serve installations that require longer runs, balanced analogue interconnects or wireless streaming.

Male-to-male gold-plated Toslink ends

The deciding specification is the male-to-male gold-plated Toslink interface, which only fits equipment with matching square optical ports. Verify that both source and receiver expose a Toslink S/PDIF socket before purchase.

Questions about this item

What does the 10 ft length mean for placing my sound bar relative to the TV?

Ten feet of cable lets you route the optical link from a wall-mounted TV down to a sound bar on a media console without stretching or needing an extension.

How does the Toslink S/PDIF interface limit the audio formats I can send?

The optical S/PDIF connection carries uncompressed PCM stereo and compressed 5.1 to 7.1 bitstreams such as Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD, but it cannot transport lossless multichannel formats like Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio.

Will the 5.0 mm braided jacket and metal connector housing fit behind my tightly spaced AV rack?

The 5.0 mm outer diameter with double braided nylon and a slim metal shell is designed to bend cleanly in tight spaces while the gold-plated Toslink plugs seat securely in recessed ports.
