10 ft Toslink Optical Cable

The LUOM T001A is a 10 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable with male-to-male connectors. It carries uncompressed PCM audio and compressed 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 surround sound formats including Dolby AC-3 and DTS for short-range fibre-optic links. A nylon-braided jacket and 24K gold-plated plugs protect the fibre core and resist corrosion. The cable suits home-theatre, gaming and professional audio installations.

Home-theatre and gaming users

Buyers connecting sound bars, TVs, PS4, Xbox or AV receivers to a Toslink port will find the square connector easy to align and secure. The 10 ft length fits typical living-room layouts. Installers needing longer runs, in-wall ratings or angled plugs should look at other products. The cable does not carry analogue, coaxial or HDMI signals, so systems without an optical port cannot use it.

24K gold-plated male-to-male Toslink

The single specification that decides fit is the 24K gold-plated male-to-male Toslink interface. It mates only with standard square S/PDIF optical ports on source and destination devices. Verify that both components provide this exact port before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will a 10 ft run still pass 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus without drop-outs?

The cable is rated for multi-channel 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 Dolby AC-3 and DTS decoding over short-range fibre links, and the 10 ft length falls within that range.

Does the nylon braid and PVC jacket keep the cable cool and quiet during all-day playback?

Optical fibre carries light instead of current, so the cable produces no heat and no electrical noise regardless of how long it runs.

My sound bar and TV both have square S/PDIF ports — is anything else needed to connect them?

Both ends are male Toslink plugs with gold-plated tips, so the cable plugs directly into standard optical ports on the sound bar and TV with no adapter required.
