1x8 HDMI Splitter for Multi-Display Setups

The ESTONE YME-098 takes a single HDMI source and distributes it to eight displays simultaneously. It suits installers running digital signage, classroom projectors or conference-room screens from one player. The unit includes a power adapter and a short 5 in. cable for the input connection.

HDMI 1.4 Bandwidth and Format Limits

The splitter complies with HDMI 1.4 and HDCP 1.3, capping video at 3840 x 2160 resolution. Supported timings include 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, plus 3D frame-packed formats. Audio passes through DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD bitstreams without decoding. Higher refresh rates or HDR metadata at 4K are not supported by this standard.

Plug-and-Play Installation with EDID Caveats

No drivers or software are required; connect the source, attach up to eight screens and apply power. The most common issue is EDID handshake conflicts when displays have different native resolutions, which can force the source to a lower common mode. Using identical display models or an external EDID manager avoids this problem.

Questions about this item

Should I pick a 1x2 or 1x4 splitter instead of this 1x8 model?

Choose the 1x8 when you need to feed one source to eight displays simultaneously; fewer ports would leave some screens unconnected.

What does the 3840x2160 figure mean when the splitter is connected to my TV?

It indicates the maximum pixel grid the device can pass through, so a 4K source at 3840x2160 will reach each of the eight outputs without downscaling.

Which HDMI version does the splitter use and what does that limit?

The unit complies with HDMI 1.4 and HDCP 1.3, capping the signal to the resolutions and audio formats defined by that specification.
