Storm IP68 vandal dome

The Eyemax DT-272 Storm is an analog CCTV camera built for exposed outdoor locations. Its IP68 rating certifies complete dust ingress protection and continuous water immersion resistance, while the vandal-proof dome housing withstands physical impact. This unit suits installers who need a durable, fixed-lens camera for perimeter monitoring in harsh weather.

420 TVL resolution and 3.6 mm lens

The camera delivers 420 TV lines of horizontal resolution in black and white using a 1/3 inch Sony Super HAD CCD sensor. The fixed 3.6 mm focal length provides a wide-angle field of view suitable for general surveillance coverage. Buyers requiring higher definition, colour imaging or variable focal length should select a different model.

Twist-lock mounting with 3-axis adjustment

Installation uses a twist-and-lock mechanism that secures the camera without drilling through the housing; a drill-hole guide is supplied for the mounting surface. The 3-axis gimbal allows precise image levelling whether the dome is fitted to a wall or ceiling. The camera operates on a 12 V DC supply, which must be provided separately.

Questions about this item

What does 420 TVL mean for the picture I will see on a monitor?

420 TVL gives a standard-definition black-and-white image with enough detail to recognise faces and clothing at typical indoor distances.

How does the IP68 rating protect the camera once it is mounted outside?

IP68 means the dome is dust-tight and can survive continuous immersion in water, so rain, hose-downs or temporary flooding will not damage the electronics.

What does the 3.6 mm lens and twist-lock base require for installation?

The 3.6 mm lens gives a wide fixed view, and the twist-lock base only needs a single drilled hole using the supplied guide — no screws through the camera body.
