Varifocal 3.5-8mm lens for adjustable viewing

The varifocal lens adjusts between 3.5 and 8 mm so installers can match the field of view to the scene. A 1/3" Sony Effio CCD produces 700 TVL horizontal resolution in colour by day. Seventeen IR illuminators switch on automatically for monochrome night vision. The camera requires a separate analogue DVR and is not compatible with HD or IP systems.

Consistent analogue output over long cable runs

The CCD sensor maintains stable 700 TVL resolution during continuous operation without the compression artefacts seen in digital streams. BNC video output delivers an uncompressed signal to the DVR over coaxial cable. DC 12 V power draw remains constant day and night. The fixed 17-LED array provides even illumination without the intensity drop-off that affects some lower-count designs.

Wired BNC installation with concealed bracket wiring

A heavy-duty bracket routes the BNC video lead and power cable inside its arm to deter tampering. The package includes a 12 V power supply and a combined video-power cable for a single-cable run. Installers must provide a compatible analogue DVR; the camera will not work with HD, IP or wireless recorders. No network configuration is required because the device has no Ethernet or Wi-Fi interface.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 1/3" Sony Effio CCD and 17 IR illuminators generate inside the weatherproof dome when running continuously?

The camera operates on 12 V DC; the dome housing is designed to dissipate heat from the sensor and infrared LEDs during all-day use.

Which recorder and cabling must I already own to connect the BNC video output and 12 V DC power input?

You need an analog CCTV DVR with BNC inputs and a 12 V DC power source; the package includes a power supply and video power cable for the camera side.

Will the 700 TVL varifocal 3.5-8 mm lens work alongside my existing 960H DVR channels?

The camera outputs standard analog video at 700 TV lines, compatible with 960H DVRs that accept analog BNC signals; it is not compatible with HD or IP systems.
