5.0 Channel Home Theater System

The Fluance SX50WC is a timbre-matched 5.0 speaker system designed for home theater enthusiasts who want immersive surround sound without a separate subwoofer. It includes two bookshelf speakers, a center channel, and two rear surround speakers finished in walnut. This passive system requires an external AV receiver or amplifier to operate.

Passive Amplification Requirement

Because the system is passive, it cannot produce sound on its own and must be connected to a compatible AV receiver with at least five powered channels. The receiver determines the maximum volume, dynamic headroom, and supported surround formats such as Dolby and DTS. Without adequate amplifier power, the speakers will not reach their performance potential.

Five-Speaker Surround Coverage

The 5.0 configuration delivers full surround immersion for movies, music, and gaming, with a dedicated center channel anchoring dialogue and effects. It handles small to medium rooms comfortably but lacks a dedicated low-frequency effects channel, so deep bass extension is limited by the bookshelf drivers. Buyers who want room-shaking low frequencies will need to add a powered subwoofer separately.
