256GB SDXC card for Full HD capture

This Gigastone SDXC card provides 256GB of storage with UHS-I U1 and Class 10 speed ratings. It delivers read speeds up to 80MB/s and write speeds up to 40MB/s. The card is built for Full HD video recording and continuous shooting with DSLRs, camcorders and point-and-shoot cameras. A mini case is included for protection.

Suited for Full HD workflows.

Photographers and videographers capturing Full HD footage or high-resolution stills will find the U1 sustained write performance adequate. The waterproof, temperature-proof, shock-proof and X-ray-proof construction adds reliability for outdoor shoots. Users requiring guaranteed minimum write speeds for 4K video or professional high-bitrate codecs need a card with a higher video speed class rating.

UHS-I U1 Class 10 speed class defines

The U1 and Class 10 designation guarantees a minimum sequential write speed of 10MB/s, which sets the practical limit for Full HD recording. Read speeds up to 80MB/s accelerate file offloads to a computer. This single speed classification determines whether the card matches a camera’s required write performance for a given video mode.

Questions about this item

Will the 256 GB SDXC card fit my camera's full-size SD slot?

Yes — it is a standard full-size SDXC card, so any device with an SDXC-compatible slot will accept it.

What is the correct way to insert the card so the write-protect switch is not accidentally engaged?

Slide the card in label-side up until it clicks; then verify the tiny switch on the left edge is pushed toward the contacts, not toward the lock icon.

The card is rated waterproof and shock-proof — does that mean I never need to replace it?

No. Flash memory wears out after many write cycles; plan to replace the card if you notice slower saves, corrupted files or after several years of heavy Full HD recording.
