256 GB SDXC card for 4K video

This Gigastone 4K Camera Pro card provides 256 GB of storage for cameras that accept the SDXC format. It carries A1, Class 10, U3, UHS-I and V30 ratings so it can sustain the write speeds that 4K UHD recording demands. The card is built to survive water, temperature extremes, X-rays, shock and magnetic fields. A mini case is included for protection when the card is not in the camera.

Upgrade from slower Class 10 or U1 cards

Moving from a basic Class 10 or U1 card to this V30-rated model removes the bottleneck that causes dropped frames during 4K capture. The jump is worth it when your camera writes at bit-rates above 30 MB/s or when you shoot long bursts of high-resolution stills. If you only record Full HD at lower bit-rates or use the card mainly for documents, the extra speed headroom will not be used.

Simple push-in installation with one common pitfall

Insert the card into the camera or reader slot until it clicks; no drivers or formatting tools are required on most devices. The main issue occurs when the host device only supports SDHC, because it cannot address the 256 GB capacity of this SDXC card. Always confirm that your camera or reader explicitly lists SDXC support before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does this 256GB SDXC card fit a standard full-size SD slot?

Yes, the card uses the full-size SD form factor so it fits any SDXC-compatible slot without an adapter.

What is the correct way to insert the card so the UHS-I bus initialises at up to 100MB/s read?

Align the label side up and the gold contacts toward the device, push firmly until it clicks, then format in-camera before first use.

How often should I reformat or replace the card to keep V30 write performance for 4K video?

Reformat in the camera after each major shoot; replace the card if sustained write speed drops below 30MB/s or after heavy multi-year use.
