Adds an M.2 NVMe slot to any PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot with an aluminium heatsink that drops drive temperature by 5–20 °C
Model M.2 Adapter with 0.12 inch Heatsink
The GLOTRENDS PA05-HS converts a PCIe X4, X8 or X16 slot into an M.2 Key M socket supporting 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 NVMe drives. It operates at PCIe 4.0, 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0 speeds without a mounting bracket, making it suitable for compact cases or 2U high cases where horizontal motherboard layouts are used.
An included 22x70x3 mm aluminum heatsink lowers drive temperatures by 5 to 20 °C during sustained workloads. Removing the bracket saves vertical clearance for low-profile chassis but means the card relies solely on the slot for retention; on vertically mounted motherboards the combined weight of adapter and SSD can cause the assembly to tilt.
The adapter is plug-and-play on Windows 11, 10, 8, Linux and Mac OS, though Windows 7 is not supported and a new NVMe drive must be initialized and formatted before the operating system recognises it. Booting from the NVMe drive requires a clean OS reinstall on a GPT partition and UEFI boot configuration; some older motherboards cannot boot from this device at all.

The 22x70x3 mm aluminum heatsink is a passive component with no moving parts or thermal interface that requires periodic replacement.
The card delivers up to 64 Gbps on a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and 32 Gbps on PCIe 3.0 x4, so the slot generation in your motherboard sets the sustained throughput limit.
The adapter itself draws negligible power and adds no active cooling; only the installed NVMe SSD generates heat, which the aluminum heatsink helps dissipate.
