Greadio GR-T26 Shortwave Radio

The Greadio GR-T26 is a portable shortwave radio designed for home and outdoor listening. It delivers 2 watts of output power through a large built-in speaker and includes an LCD display for clear station visibility. The unit measures 9.45 in x 2.4 in x 5.9 in and weighs 2 lb, with a carry handle for transport.

Suits listeners wanting simple multi-band reception

This radio suits users who want straightforward AM, FM, and shortwave tuning with large knobs and a readable screen. It is not for buyers who need digital presets, Bluetooth streaming, or NOAA weather alerts. The lack of included batteries means it is not ideal for immediate emergency use without a separate purchase.

Runs on AC power or four D-cell batteries

The single specification that decides suitability is the dual power design: an included AC cable for continuous indoor operation and a battery compartment for four D cells when mains power is unavailable. This flexibility supports extended listening during outages or outdoor activities.

Questions about this item

How often will the four D-cell batteries need replacing when the radio runs on battery power?

Battery life depends on volume level and daily listening time; the radio draws from four D cells so expect to swap them every few weeks with regular use.

What limits continuous operation when the GR-T26 is plugged into AC power all day?

The 2-watt amplifier and internal speaker set the practical volume ceiling; extended high-volume sessions may trigger thermal protection before any other limit appears.

Does the radio produce noticeable fan noise or heat during all-day AC operation?

No cooling fan is present; the chassis warms slightly near the speaker grille after hours of use but remains comfortable to touch and silent.
