14.0" FHD Ultrabook with AMD PRO A10-8730B

The HP EliteBook 745 G4 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop powered by an AMD PRO A10-8730B quad-core processor running at 2.4 GHz with a boost to 3.3 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed. The LED-backlit display offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input.

Business users needing legacy ports

This ultrabook suits professionals who require VGA and DisplayPort video outputs, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C port and wired Gigabit Ethernet. The memory is maxed at 16 GB with no free slots, so buyers who want more storage or user-upgradable RAM should look elsewhere. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth handle wireless connectivity.

Fixed 16 GB DDR4 memory configuration

The single specification that decides fit is the soldered 16 GB DDR4 arrangement: two 8 GB modules fill both slots and the system maximum is 16 GB. No further memory expansion is possible. The 256 GB SSD provides the primary storage and a 65-watt AC adapter supplies power.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256 GB SSD or the 128 GB SSD version?

The product ships with a 256 GB SSD installed, giving you double the capacity of the 128 GB alternative for more applications and files.

What does the 2.4 GHz base clock mean for everyday work?

The AMD PRO A10-8730B runs at 2.4 GHz on all four cores and can boost to 3.3 GHz, so office apps and web browsing stay responsive under load.

What does the USB Type-C port actually support?

The single USB Type-C port handles USB 3.0 data speeds; it does not carry video or charging, so external displays use the DisplayPort or VGA outputs instead.
