Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 850 G7 is a 15.6 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5-10310U quad-core processor running at 1.70 GHz. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and 8 GB of DDR4 memory. The silver chassis carries a Grade B cosmetic rating, meaning visible scratches or shiny key surfaces are present. It suits professionals who need a reliable Windows machine for office applications, video calls and light content work while travelling.

Memory and storage headroom

The system includes 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. This capacity handles the operating system, productivity suites and a moderate local file library comfortably. Heavy multitasking with large datasets, virtual machines or extensive media projects will exhaust the available memory and storage headroom, requiring external drives or cloud offload for larger workflows.

Thunderbolt 3 and display connectivity

Two USB 3.1 Type-C ports provide Thunderbolt 3 support for docks, external GPUs and high-resolution monitors up to the bandwidth limits of the Thunderbolt 3 standard. A single HDMI port adds a second external display option without a dock. Wireless connectivity uses Intel AX201 Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics relies on shared system memory, limiting 3D performance to basic rendering and video playback.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i5-10310U is running at its 1.7 GHz base speed after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 11 Pro, select the Performance tab and watch the CPU frequency settle at 1.7 GHz during light workloads.

The shipment includes the laptop with Windows 11 Pro preloaded and an OEM wattage-appropriate AC adapter; no separate power supply purchase is needed.
