HPE Aruba AP-505 unified access point

The HPE Aruba AP-505 is a unified wireless access point built for enterprise environments. It carries the R2H29A part number and is designated for the US regulatory domain. The unit ships new and was first listed by the manufacturer in 2025.

Suited for single-AP deployments needing unified

This model fits organisations that manage Wi‑Fi through Aruba’s unified architecture. It is not intended for buyers who require controller‑less Instant clustering, those needing outdoor‑rated enclosures, or sites that must support higher spatial‑stream counts than the radio provides.

Radio headroom covers typical office density

The radio handles standard corporate traffic such as video conferencing and cloud applications across moderate user counts. Capacity diminishes in high‑density venues like auditoriums or stadiums where concurrent client loads exceed the four spatial streams available.

Questions about this item

What network infrastructure is required for the HPE Aruba Networking R2H29A AP-505 US Unified AP to operate?

Can the R2H29A AP-505 integrate with legacy Aruba controllers or Instant clusters already deployed?

As a Unified AP, the R2H29A supports both controller-based and controller-less (Instant) modes, allowing it to join existing Aruba mobility controller clusters or form new Instant virtual controller groups.

How can I verify the AP-505 is operating correctly after initial configuration?

After adoption, the unit will appear in the Aruba Central or Mobility Conductor dashboard with a green status, showing active client counts, radio utilisation, and firmware version 2025 compliance.
