20-Port Gigabit PoE Expansion

This HPE J9536A module adds twenty RJ-45 1000Base-T Power over Ethernet ports to a compatible switch chassis. It is designed for network administrators who need to connect and power devices such as IP phones, wireless access points or security cameras over twisted-pair cabling.

Two SFP+ Uplink Slots

The unit provides two SFP+ expansion slots for fibre or direct-attach uplinks, letting the module link back to the core switch without consuming front-panel RJ-45 ports. All twenty copper ports and both uplinks are housed in a single hot-pluggable module that slides into an available chassis bay.

Gigabit Copper Distance Limit

Each RJ-45 port operates at 1000Base-T over twisted pair, which restricts cable runs to the standard 100-metre maximum for Gigabit Ethernet. The two SFP+ slots accept separate transceivers to extend reach beyond that limit, but those optics are not included with the module.
