The iStarUSA BPU-340SATA-SILVER converts three standard 5.25" drive bays into four hot-swappable 3.5" SAS or SATA slots. It targets server and workstation builders who need high-density storage with front-access drive changes. An aluminium chassis with conductive dissipation grooves and an integrated 80mm fan subsystem manages drive thermals. LED indicators report power, drive activity, fan status and high-temperature alerts.

Upgrade from fixed internal cages

This unit replaces static internal drive mounts that require system shutdown for every drive swap. The jump is worth it when uptime matters and RAID rebuilds must happen without powering down the chassis. A separate RAID controller is required to enable RAID 1, 0, 1+0 or 5 arrays. The backplane delivers up to 6.0 Gbps per port for SAS I/II and SATA drives.

Four-drive capacity with 2.5" flexibility
