Each adapter passes video up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz and 1920x1200, covering 480i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p timings. It cannot carry audio and it is strictly uni-directional, so a DVI source cannot drive a DisplayPort display. Resolutions beyond 1920x1200 are not supported.

Passive design draws no extra power

Gold-plated DP connectors with locking latches resist corrosion and prevent accidental disconnection. The straight, moulded bodies add strain relief without active circuitry, so they add no measurable heat or noise to the system. A release button must be pressed before unplugging.
