This JacobsParts cable adds 6 inches of reach between a SATA power connector and a 2.5 inch drive. It uses a 15 pin female to female layout so the existing power lead plugs straight in. The part is sold new in a five piece pack.

Suits builders extending power to 2.5 inch SATA

The 15 pin female to female design works only where both ends already present a male SATA power plug. It cannot connect a bare drive directly to a power supply and it does not fit 3.5 inch drives or optical units.

15 pin female to female gender

This single specification decides whether the cable matches the power leads in your build. If your power supply or adapter already terminates in a male SATA power plug the extension will seat correctly; otherwise a different connector arrangement is required.
