Jansicotek A0108 16.5 ft DP 2.1 cable

The Jansicotek A0108 is a 16.5 ft DisplayPort 2.1 cable built for owners of high-refresh-rate monitors or 8K and 16K displays who need a VESA-certified link at the full 80 Gbps specification. It connects a DP 2.1 source to a DP 2.1 sink with male-to-male connectors and triple-shielded solid copper conductors.

VESA certification and DSC 1.2a support

VESA certification confirms the cable meets the official 80 Gbps UHBR20 tier, while DSC 1.2a compression lets it deliver 16K at 60 Hz or 4K at 240 Hz without exceeding that bandwidth. The cable also carries HDR, HDCP 2.2 and stereoscopic 3D, so protected 4K HDR streams and 3D content pass through without extra adapters.

Bandwidth and length constraints

At 16.5 ft the cable operates at the upper end of passive copper reach for 80 Gbps; longer runs would require active or optical designs to maintain the full data rate. The link drops to lower UHBR tiers or HBR3 automatically if either endpoint does not support DP 2.1, so maximum resolution and refresh rate are only available when both the graphics card and the monitor implement the 2.1 standard.

Questions about this item

Will the triple-shielded braided jacket need any periodic replacement under normal desktop use?

The cable uses a solid copper conductor with triple shielding and a braided jacket rated for the full 16.5 ft length; no periodic jacket replacement is required.

What is the first resolution or refresh-rate ceiling I will hit when driving a 4K monitor continuously at high frame rates?

The cable supports 4K at 240 Hz, 165 Hz and 144 Hz, so the first limit is the 240 Hz ceiling at 4K resolution.

Does the cable generate noticeable heat or draw extra power when running 8K at 120 Hz all day?

As a passive copper DisplayPort 2.1 cable it adds no active power draw; heat remains negligible even at the full 80 Gbps bandwidth.
