USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable

The Jansicotek BK-CD2 connects a USB-C source to a DisplayPort 1.4 display. It carries video and audio for desktops, laptops and tablets that support DisplayPort Alt Mode. The 3.3 ft length suits desk setups where the host and monitor sit close together. It is not for users who need a longer reach or a second cable for another screen.

Passive copper cable with triple shielding

Solid copper conductors and triple shielding keep the 32.4 Gbps signal stable at the rated refresh rates. No active electronics mean zero power draw and no fan noise. The cable runs cool during normal use because it does not convert or amplify the signal. It is not for runs that exceed the passive length limit for HBR3 bandwidth.

Male-to-male connectors, Thunderbolt 3/4 compatible

Both ends are male, so the cable plugs directly into the host USB-C port and the monitor DisplayPort input. Thunderbolt 3 and 4 ports that carry DisplayPort Alt Mode work without adapters. The cable does not supply USB power or data, so it cannot charge the host or carry peripherals. Builders who need USB-C power delivery or a hub function must add a separate dock.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the USB-C end to a Thunderbolt 3 port for 8K@60Hz output?

Plug the USB-C connector directly into the Thunderbolt 3 port; the cable handles DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode automatically, but the host must support DSC 1.2 for 8K@60Hz at 32.4Gbps.

Will the triple-shielded solid copper conductors need replacement over time?

The solid copper conductors and triple shielding are passive and rated for the cable's lifespan; no scheduled replacement is required unless physical damage occurs.

At what point does sustained 4K@144Hz hit a bandwidth limit on this 3.3 ft cable?

4K@144Hz runs within the 32.4Gbps HBR3 ceiling, so the cable itself does not bottleneck that mode.
