The unit is powered and amplifies the signal to maintain quality over longer cable runs.

Power adapter and manual included

A 5 V power adapter ships in the box, enabling the internal amplification that supports cable runs up to 50 ft from the splitter to each display and 60 ft back to the source. 4K at 30 Hz bandwidth ceiling
