The Jansicotek OZV8 splits one HDMI 2.0 source into a video path and two independent audio paths. It suits owners of soundbars, AV receivers or headphones that lack HDMI inputs. The unit handles 4K at 60 Hz, 1080p and lower resolutions with 18 Gbps bandwidth.

Upgrade from TV-only audio

It replaces the limited audio outputs built into displays, letting a PS5, Xbox Series X or Blu-ray player feed a separate sound system while the picture continues to the screen. The jump is worth it when the display has no eARC port or when the amplifier only accepts optical or analogue stereo.

5.1-channel optical and 3.5 mm analogue

The extractor passes 5.1 surround through the SPDIF port and stereo through the 3.5 mm jack, both selectable via an EDID switch. It runs out of headroom for uncompressed multichannel formats beyond 5.1 and cannot pass HDR metadata beyond the HDMI 1.4 colour-space limits.
