Questions about this item

Which power sources does the KA500YL offer for daily use and emergencies?

The KA500YL provides six ways to power the unit: hand crank generator, flip-up 180-degree adjustable solar panel, three AA batteries, 5 V USB input, 5 V AC/DC adapter and the built-in rechargeable NiMH pack.

What does the 14.5-inch telescopic antenna actually deliver in real conditions?

Extending the antenna to 14.5 inches gives high-sensitivity reception across AM, FM, two shortwave bands and seven pre-programmed NOAA weather channels, assisted by an LED signal-strength indicator for accurate tuning.

How does the 5 V USB output perform when charging a phone from the hand crank?

The built-in 5 V USB port can charge smartphones, GPS units, MP3 players and cameras; cranking the generator feeds the internal NiMH pack which then supplies the USB output for emergency top-ups.
