Twin-pack ham radios for licensed operators

This KEHIPI UV-5RH set delivers two 10 W handheld transceivers built for amateur bands. Each unit covers 144–148 MHz and 420–450 MHz transmit with wide receive from 108–136, 136–174, 220–260, 350–390 and 400–520 MHz. The pair suits operators who need matching radios for coordinated field work.

VHF/UHF line-of-sight range and channel capacity

Communication distance reaches 5–8 miles under typical terrain, limited by curvature and obstacles rather than raw power. Up to 999 memory channels store repeater splits, CTCSS or DCS tones and scan lists. The 1.77-inch colour screen aids menu navigation, but dense urban or heavily wooded areas will reduce usable range.

2500 mAh Type-C battery decides daily endurance

A single 2500 mAh pack powers each radio and charges via USB Type-C, removing the need for proprietary cradles. Operating time varies with transmit duty cycle, backlight use and VOX activity. Users planning multi-day excursions without mains access should carry spare packs or a power bank.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2-pack or the 4-pack for my team?

The 2-pack includes two radios with 2500mAh batteries, Type-C charging, earpieces and a programming cable; the 4-pack doubles that quantity for larger groups.

What does the 10W output mean for actual range?

The 10W transmitter helps reach the quoted 5-8 mile range in open terrain; buildings, hills and vegetation will reduce the practical distance.

Which frequency bands does the UV-5RH cover and what limits apply?

It transmits on 144-148MHz and 420-450MHz and receives from 108-520MHz across multiple bands; FCC certification applies to the declared transmit ranges.
