Klipsch RP-502SWII Surround Speaker

The Klipsch RP-502SWII is a 5.25-inch two-way surround speaker designed for home theatre systems. It uses Wide Dispersion Surround Technology and a 90° x 90° Tractrix horn to distribute high frequencies across the listening area. The speaker is finished in walnut and built for on-wall elevation or surround placement.

Ideal for immersive surround setups

This model suits buyers adding dedicated rear or elevation channels to a reference-grade system. The vented tweeter housing and LTS titanium diaphragm tweeter minimise distortion for detailed effects. It is not suited for listeners seeking a floor-standing main speaker or a self-powered wireless satellite solution.

Handles high-frequency detail and midrange effects

The cerametallic woofer delivers efficient midrange reproduction for movie soundtracks and multichannel music. The horn-loaded tweeter provides clear high-frequency extension at reference levels. Deep bass extension below the woofer range requires a separate subwoofer to complete the full-range experience.

Questions about this item

What amplifier power and speaker-cable connections do I need to drive the RP-502SWII?

The RP-502SWII is a passive surround speaker, so you must supply a stereo or multi-channel amplifier with speaker-level outputs and two-conductor speaker wire for each cabinet.

Will the 5.25" Cerametallic woofers and 90° x 90° Tractrix horn blend with my older Reference Premiere fronts?

Yes, the RP-502SWII uses the same LTS titanium tweeter and Cerametallic woofer technology as current Reference Premiere models, giving a consistent tonal signature across the soundstage.

How can I verify the Wide Dispersion Surround Technology is working after I mount the speakers on the wall?

Play a surround test signal; you should hear a broad, even spread of effects from the 90° x 90° horn with clear, detailed highs from the vented LTS tweeter and no obvious hot spots.
