Purpose-built gaming laptop

The Lenovo Legion 5i 15 pairs an Intel Core i7-14700HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8 GB graphics card. It ships with 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD for fast load times. The 15.1 inch OLED panel runs at 2560x1600 resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate for smooth motion. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed and ready to use.

Setup and common issues

The unit arrives with the factory seal opened by engineers who install the upgraded RAM and SSD before testing. No further assembly is required; simply power on and follow the Windows setup screens. A frequent oversight is forgetting to switch the discrete GPU to high-performance mode in the NVIDIA control panel for demanding titles. Another common issue is leaving the display at 60 Hz instead of enabling the native 165 Hz setting in Windows display options.

Deciding specification

The 15.1 inch OLED screen at 2560x1600 and 165 Hz is the single specification that determines suitability. Buyers who need a higher refresh rate for competitive shooters or a larger panel for content creation should look elsewhere. This display targets gamers who prioritise colour accuracy and motion clarity at this exact size and resolution.
