Core gaming laptop

The Lenovo Legion 5i 15 is a gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i7-14700HX processor with 20 cores and 28 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU carrying 8 GB of video memory. A 15.1 inch WQXGA OLED panel running at 165 Hz handles the display. The system ships with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

Stepping up from integrated graphics

This configuration replaces a machine that relies on integrated graphics or an entry-level discrete GPU. The jump is worth it when you need consistent frame rates at the panel's native 2560x1600 resolution and want the responsiveness of a 165 Hz OLED screen. The 20-core processor also shortens compile times and keeps background tasks from stuttering during play.

Build fit and connectivity

Two USB-A ports at 5 Gbps and two USB-C ports at 10 Gbps handle peripherals; one USB-C supports USB PD 65-100 W and DisplayPort 2.1 while the other carries DisplayPort 1.4. An HDMI 2.1 output can drive an external display up to 8K at 60 Hz. A wired RJ-45 jack and Wi-Fi 7 give network flexibility. The 3.5 mm combo jack covers audio. The chassis measures 13.58 by 10.05 by 0.85 inches and weighs 4.4 pounds.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the laptop so I can check if it fits my bag?

The laptop measures 13.58 inches wide, 10.05 inches deep and 0.85 inches thick, weighing 4.4 pounds.

How do I add more storage, and which screw do people forget?

Remove the bottom panel screws, open the case, and insert a PCIe SSD into the free M.2 slot; the shortest corner screw is the one most often missed during reassembly.

When will the 16 GB of soldered memory become a bottleneck?

The 16 GB is fixed on the board and cannot be upgraded; heavy multitasking or future titles may exceed it, so plan workloads around that limit.
