15.6 inch 144 Hz gaming laptop

The Lenovo LOQ 15 is a Windows 11 gaming laptop built around a 15.6 inch Full HD display running at 144 Hz. An Intel Core i7-13650HX processor with 14 cores and 20 threads drives the system. Graphics come from an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. The chassis measures 14.17 by 10.19 by 0.94 inches and weighs 5.28 pounds in a gray finish.

Suited to 1080p play, not 4K or heavy content work

Buyers who want smooth 1080p gaming on a high-refresh screen will find the 144 Hz panel and RTX 5050 a good match. The 16 GB of memory and 512 GB PCIe SSD handle current titles and everyday multitasking. Users who need more storage for large game libraries, 64 GB of RAM for video editing, or a higher-resolution display for creative work should look at other configurations.

RTX 5050 with 8 GB GDDR7 decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. It sets the performance ceiling for modern games at 1080p and defines whether the laptop meets a buyer's frame-rate targets. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 output.

Questions about this item

How do I add the 512GB PCIe SSD and what step do people miss?

Open the base, insert the drive into the free M.2 slot at an angle, press down and secure with the screw; the step people miss is enabling the new volume in Disk Management before it appears in Windows 11 Home.

Which parts will need replacement first during the laptop's life?

The 8 GB GDDR7 GPU memory and 16 GB DDR5 system memory are soldered, so only the 512GB PCIe SSD and the internal battery are replaceable later.

What limit appears first when the i7-13650HX and RTX 5050 run at full load for a long session?

The 14-core 20-thread CPU hits its 4.9 GHz turbo ceiling and the shared cooling reaches thermal capacity before the 144Hz 15.6" 1920 x 1080 panel or Wi-Fi 6 link become bottlenecks.
