Core configuration

The Lenovo Legion 5i 15 pairs an Intel Core i7-14700HX processor with 20 cores and 28 threads with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8 GB GPU. A 15.1 inch WQXGA OLED panel running at 165 Hz delivers 2560 by 1600 resolution. The system ships with 64 GB of DDR5 memory and a 4 TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

Upgrade path

This unit replaces the factory 16 GB memory and 512 GB SSD with 64 GB DDR5 and 4 TB storage before it reaches you. The jump is worthwhile when your workloads exceed the original capacity, such as running large datasets, virtual machines or modern game libraries that demand more than the base configuration provides.

Build integration

Two USB-A ports at 5 Gbps and two USB-C ports at 10 Gbps handle peripherals and external displays. One USB-C supports USB PD 65 to 100 W and DisplayPort 2.1, the other carries DisplayPort 1.4. HDMI 2.1 drives up to 8K at 60 Hz. RJ-45 Ethernet and Wi-Fi 7 802.11be 2x2 with BT 5.4 cover networking. A 3.5 mm combo jack serves audio.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions and weight of the Lenovo Legion 5i 15 so I can confirm it fits my bag?

The chassis measures 13.58 x 10.05 x 0.85 inches and weighs 4.4 pounds, so check your sleeve or backpack against those figures.

How is the factory seal handled during the RAM and SSD upgrade, and what step is often missed?

Engineers open the original seal to install the 64 GB DDR5 and 4 TB PCIe SSD, then reseal the unit; the step buyers miss is verifying the upgraded components are recognised in BIOS before first use.

Which user-replaceable parts will need attention later, and what are their specs?

The two SO-DIMM slots hold DDR5 memory and the M.2 slot holds a PCIe SSD; both are accessible after removing the base cover for future capacity increases.
