Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny desktop PC is a micro form-factor system built around an 8th-generation Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at up to 4.1 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 3.5-inch 1 TB hard drive for local storage. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included in the box. A USB Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongle provides wireless connectivity.

Office and home-office users

This configuration suits workers who need a small, quiet PC for everyday productivity tasks such as document editing, web browsing and video calls. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics and single 1 TB hard drive make it unsuitable for buyers who want high-end 3D performance or large multi-drive storage arrays. The 65 W processor and compact case also limit future expansion options.

DDR4 memory standard

The system uses 240-pin DDR4 UDIMM modules and supports a maximum of 32 GB. Buyers planning a memory upgrade must select DDR4 parts; other DDR generations are physically and electrically incompatible. The two included 8 GB modules occupy the available slots, so any increase requires replacing them.

Questions about this item

Does the M720q ship with a keyboard and mouse or must they be purchased separately?

A Lenovo USB keyboard and USB mouse are included in the box, so no separate purchase is needed.

Should I choose the 1 TB hard drive or an M.2 solid-state drive for the operating system?

The unit comes with a 3.5" 1 TB hard drive; the supplier notes that some configurations place the OS on an M.2 drive with the 1 TB drive used for storage.

How does the i5-8500's 4.10 GHz turbo speed perform inside the Tiny chassis?

The 65 W hexa-core processor reaches 4.10 GHz on turbo while the micro form factor's cooling keeps it stable for everyday workloads.
