Compact business desktop with hexa-core i7-8700

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny is a new micro-form-factor desktop built around an Intel Core i7-8700 processor with six cores and twelve threads running up to 4.60 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory, a 128 GB M.2 SSD for the operating system and a 1 TB SSD for data. Windows 11 Pro, a USB keyboard and a USB mouse are included. It suits offices that need a small footprint and quiet operation.

Simple plug-in setup; verify drive brackets

Installation is limited to connecting power, display and peripherals because the chassis is sealed for the tiny form factor. The unit may arrive with a USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dongle rather than an internal card, so check the box for that adapter. The DVD-ROM drive is a slim slot-load type; ensure the eject mechanism works on first boot. Memory upgrades require low-profile DDR4 UDIMM modules that fit the 240-pin slots.

Confirm display outputs.

Before ordering, verify that your monitor matches the available video ports on the rear of the M720q. The dual-drive configuration places Windows on the 128 GB M.2 drive and uses the 1 TB SSD for storage, so plan partitioning accordingly. The board supports up to 32 GB of DDR4, so buyers who want more memory should source compatible UDIMM sticks. No discrete graphics card can be added.
